Ubisoft Prince of Persia: The Misplaced Crown

After 14 years, after so many fantastic episodes and recollections of gamers, Prince of Persia is again.

Engaged on such an iconic IP is a present for an artwork workforce but additionally a dedication to its legacy.

And one of many first questions we had was: “What can we deliver that’s new and distinctive…  and the way?”.

The Misplaced Crown is a pure and respectful return to what first made the franchise successful: a side-view motion/journey recreation, wealthy with epic fights and intense platforming sequences, filled with traps and puzzles, embracing an inspiring story in legendary Persia.

Our ambition was to construct a strong and coherent piece of labor to ask gamers on a memorable journey alongside the Immortals. To immerse gamers in every interconnected space of the cursed Mount Qaf, from the ramparts of the Citadel of Data to the frozen heights of the Tower of Silence, from the depths of the Hyrcanian Forest to the raging Caspian Sea, so many iconic locations.

For this new expertise, Sargon, our prodigy hero and spearhead of the sport, faces many risks and creatures. As a fearless warrior, he slashes opponents due to his sword mastery and makes use of Time Powers or Particular Talents that require extraordinary command of his Athra. To ship this sense of epicness, we introduced modernity to the Persian lore and drew from our personal influences. The animation, the visible results, the colourful colour palette, and the energetic narrative structure echo our love for anime and superhero comics, all mixed in an effort to attain our distinctive signature.

All of that wouldn’t have been attainable with out all of the artists and groups concerned. Making a wealthy and significant world from scratch might be bold, and we had been capable of sort out this problem due to their unbelievable work and unwavering dedication. We’re so honored to have been by their aspect and pleased with what they’ve achieved.

Might their superb expertise shine by means of this Artwork Blast.

Lastly, a humble and easy thought guided us throughout this creating course of. It was all about creating bridges: between outdated mates of Prince of Persia and a brand new technology of gamers, between the younger and the skilled artists, between historic Persian mythology and trendy popular culture. To unite folks and sensibilities to jot down this love letter to the Prince of Persia collection, and past that, to the artwork of video video games.

Welcome to Mount Qaf!
